Chris Burkstaller, PGA

Chris is originally from Mandeville, Louisiana and attended The University of Louisiana-Lafayette. Chris began his career in the golf business at Covington Country Club and a youngster and moved to the northeast part of the United States and worked at many high-profile clubs such as Ridgewood Country Club, TPC River Highlands, Wannamoisett Country Club and spent winters working at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. After many years in the northeast, Chris came home to take the Head Golf Professional position at Lakewood Country Club in New Orleans, Louisiana and the The University Club in Baton Rouge. Chris also spent time teaching full time at Santa Maria Golf Course in Baton Rouge. He also was Head Golf Professional at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Denham Springs and had an earlier stint at The Island before coming back last October. Chris has a passion for teaching and merchandising and is a two-time winner of the Gulf States PGA Merchandiser of the Year and is also the 2019 Gulf States PGA Youth Player Development Award Winner. Chris is the recipient of the 2022 Gulf States PGA Louisiana Chapter Professional of the Year. In his spare time Chris enjoys fishing and cooking.
